Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington is a writer, philanthropist as well as a TV host and owner of the online, independent newsmagazine The Huffington Post. Born in Greece but moved to England in the year sixteen. Then, at Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in economics. As the first non-English speaking student, she was elected the president of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. She joined the conservative syndicated journalist after graduating and, with The Huffington Post launched a several years after, she created an online platform for voice that gave criticisms of the political landscape. Her status as a celebrity helped to get a number of prominent contributors to post their views about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna became famous when she made the decision to contest as an independent presidential candidate during the California recall election, to take over the Governor Davis. In addition to this she was the leader of the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. She was ranked 12th in Forbes' ranking of the most influential women in media. At the time, Guardian listed her among the top 100 journalists. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and the post was made president by the media company. It included a variety of AOL brands at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos the journalist who also works as a management consultant. She was very close with her father. It is her bond with her mother that shaped her. Even during her formative years, she exhibited her leadership qualities for which her name is still well-known. When she moved to England, she was sixteen to further her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She joined in the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years as she was the 3rd and only female to be elected president. In 1972 she graduated with a master's degree in Economics. Following the graduation ceremony, she worked as columnist and TV presenter. She also appeared in an edition of Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books with editorial assistance from Bernard Levin.
