Anita Saarkessian
Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada but grew up in the United States. She's been an editor since the year 1995. Feminist Frequency is a channel that hosts videos, commentary and analyses of portrayals in popular cultures. Anita Sarkeesian a Canadian American media critic. Feminist Frequency - a not-for profit educational site that explores female representations in popular cultural narratives is founded and directed by Sarkeesian. She's determined to dismantle stereotypes of women as they are depicted in pop culture. Furthermore she has a mission to increase awareness of online harassment directed at women and marginalized groups of people. Sarkeesian holds a York University master's in social theological, philosophical and political thought. In addition to being an acclaimed public speaker, she has given speeches at the TEDxWomen XOXO conference and the United Nations Broadband Working Group. When she was a student at the university, Sarkeesian became concerned about issues related to gender and rights for women at an early stage. The ambitious lady planned to launch an internet program that would examine the gender roles in games and was then the victim of an online campaign to harass her. It was not enough to deter her. In fact, it increased her importance to being a feminist and a media critique. The award-winning journalist has received numerous accolades in recognition of her many prominent contributions to the field of feministism. Anita Sarkeesian was a multi-award winning media critic.
