Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek, a Mexican American actress, born of Spanish as well as Lebanese parents, is Mexican. The actress was born in Mexico into a rich Roman Catholic family. At the age of a small girl, she was introduced to the film "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. In Mexico City, her time at Universidad Iberoamericana prepared her for an acting career in films. The first time she acted was for a role in the Mexican television show "Teresa." When she moved to Hollywood and being cast in the lead role alongside Antonio Banderas in the movie "Desperado.' Later, she was cast in "Fools Rush In" as well as "Wild Wild West", amongst others. Her role was reprised of 'Desperado' from 'Once Once Upon A Time in Mexico in the following year, and then founded her own production firm called "Ventanarosa.' She was the producer of the Mexican film , 'El Coronel Tien Quien Escriba". It was Mexico's entry for the Oscars for the category of 'Best Foreign Film.' Executive producer for 'Ugly Betty'. She received a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress (Comedy series) for the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards. She has also endorsed products such as Revlon and Avon and launched her own line of cosmetics, skincare and hair care products dubbed Nuance.'
