She was in Dreamscape (1984), Power(1986), SpaceCamp(1986), Black Rain (1989), Love Affair (94), Just Cause (1995) and The Love Letter (1999). Capshaw is a portrait artist who has been shown in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth Texas. She is the daughter of Beverley Sue Simon (nee Simon), beauty therapist and travel agent, as well as Edwin Leon Nail, an employee of the airline. at the age of five she moved to St. Louis and graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School. Capshaw was a graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree as an educator. She was also a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She was a special education teacher at Southern Boone High School Ashland, Missouri and Rock Bridge High School Columbia, Missouri.
